Climate change talk is cheap and will continue

And so it has come to pass that the leaders of the world have agreed to keep talking in an effort to reach an agreement on limiting climate change. Copenhagen has achieved very little other than to remind us of the difficulties of getting the countries of the world to agree on anything. As John Sauven of Greenpeace UK said as news of the so-called agreement between key states was announced: “It is now evident that beating global warming will require a radically different model of politics than the one in Copenhagen.” What he did not say is that changing the model of politics in the world is even less likely to be achieved than agreement to stop global warming.
