Given the very artificial ways which Fairfax have been using to prop up the circulation figures of its broadsheets I was surprised to be informed by my newsagent that the Melbourne Age is no longer available for morning home delivery in Canberra. The paper used to be sent by air to the national capital but the new cost cutting regime now sends it by truck. They won't have to bother doing that for long as sales are bound to plummet.
