Full marks to the Sydney Daily Telegraph. They have come up with an idea that might actually allow people to learn something about the views of the two prospective Prime Ministers.

Julia Gillard, Tony Abbott agree to meet under same roof for public forum | News.com.au:

"THE battle to woo undecided voters has lured Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition leader Tony Abbott to appear under the same roof this Wednesday in an unprecedented twist to the federal election.
Both leaders have agreed to appear in a town hall-style public forum organised by The Daily Telegraph at the Rooty Hill RSL in western Sydney.
About 200 undecided voters chosen by the Galaxy polling company will be given an hour to question the Prime Minister on her policies and vision for the country, followed by Mr Abbott.
The forum will be televised live around the nation by Sky News from 6pm and hosted by its political editor David Speers."
